AzDL offers curriculum resources specifically designed by Sequoia Choice as well as from a number of leading educational publishers and other online schools. We also offer high school and junior high courses from university distance learning programs, community college courses for advanced students, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in over a dozen subjects. Using these resources, we can tailor our curriculum to fit individual preferences. |

Each Arizona Distance Learning student is supervised by a certified teacher or advisor who designs a program of study based on the student’s strengths and needs. Faculty members combine computer-based resources with traditional materials to create a balanced program for each student. |

Arizona Distance Learning began in 1998 at the request of families around the state who wanted more flexible options in education. To meet this demand, AzDL's parent institution, Sequoia Schools, helped draft Arizona Statute §15-808, which instituted distance learning in Arizona. One of four schools approved by this original bill, AzDL rapidly grew to become the only Arizona distance learning school for students in grades K – 12.
In early 2003, Arizona Distance Learning parents played an instrumental role in expanding distance learning law in Arizona, leading to the opening of 10 new virtual schools.
Throughout this growth, Arizona Distance Learning has continued to provide a personalized education for one student and family at a time.
