Things to Try Before You Panic

Hello Students,

Here is a small list of things that you can try before you panic, if you are experiencing technical difficulties in your courses.

BROWSER -

If you are unable to pull up pages, or it seems that items are missing from your page, you might have a browser compatibility issue. To resolve this, make sure that you have the latest updates from your browser. If that doesn't work, please try switching browsers. For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, try using Mozilla Firefox.

ADOBE READER -

Another common problem is opening .pdf files. Make sure that you have the latest Adobe Reader to solve this issue.

JAVA -

Sometimes websites won't run properly and you just need to update Java on your computer.

OPEN OFFICE -

If you have trouble viewing documents from your classes. You will need to download and install OpenOffice. OpenOffice is a free wordprocessor that will allow you to open all types of word documents.

If you need additional help, please contact your advisor.

Dear Arizona Distance Learning Families,

Welcome to the 2010-2011 academic school year! It is my hope your summer was a profitable and rewarding time to recoup, refresh, and/or possibly spend a little time taking courses or enhancing academic skills. Whether you are new to Arizona Distance Learning (AzDL) or returning we are all eager to get this year off and running!

It is amazing how much AzDL has grown this last year and summer. We are proud to validate our commitment to teaching, servicing and respecting all student and family needs. With your help, suggestions and guidance, we have blossomed into a well-known, trusted and valued school, state-wide. With the most dedicated staff I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and/or working with; our intentions and focus will continue to be the education best suited for the student and family with sincerity, accountability, and the true desire to watch a student flourish and enjoy learning with academic success.

Changes to 7th and 8th Grade

terraCan you believe that we are getting very close to starting another school year? The summer is flying by.

I wanted to let you know of a few changes for 7th and 8th grade students enrolled with AzDL/SHSRC.

First, we will all be called Arizona Distance Learning (AzDL) now. As many of you know, SHSRC has merged with AzDL to become one program under the Sequoia Choice umbrella.  This is a positive move and brings with it many possibilities and advantages. AzDL now consists of two programs; elementary (K-6) and Junior High/High School (7-12).

Fourth of July Holiday!
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

Well, July is now upon us and I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!  If you are working on a summer course or reinforcement activities,  Monday, July 5th, will be recognized as a district 'holiday'. Therefore, your advisors and online teachers will not be available, to extend the 4th of July holiday weekend. Please observe this day, as well, or continue your studies to finish up sooner than later!

If you are taking a summer course, remember, all work and final exams are due by July 29th! School will resume August 9, 2010 for the 2010-2011 academic school year.

If you have any questions about this summer and/or upcoming fall semester, please feel free to contact us!

Sincerely,

Beth Cirulis, Principal
Terra Rhineheart, Elementary Director
